3rd Press Release of AQUARES Project

Titles such as “The current climate change and the scarcity drinking water“ are everywhere and this trend is slowly becoming aware of the whole world. To support the strengthening of effective water reuse management the AQUARES project was created, whose Lead Partner of is the Region of Murcia (GWD).

A Project that started in 2018 and is co-funded by the European Union Funds under the Interreg program Europe, a total of 10 organizations are involved from 9 EU countries. The project is focused on current and up to now a slightly neglected topic, and achievement efficient water management through its reuse. Sharing experience and passing on know-how between stakeholders from both political and non-political areas project space for discussion, sharing not only problems but also knowledge, skills and new technologies for reuse water. The aim of the project is to create and implement the corresponding action plan with the needs of our region.

A study visit was held in the Region Lodzkie, Poland, at the end of October 2019. This study visit led to linking the envisaged initiatives int the areas reuse of water with the help of adequate technologies and business models. The purpose of the study visit was also a mutual exchange of experience with partners and stakeholders project that have already applied new technologies and models. On the first day of the study visit, we visited the municipal water and sewerage plant in Sieradz and the textile factory “Bilinski” in Konstantynow Lodzki. There was applied the best available techniques a wastewater treatment via their project and the closing of water circuits in the “Blinski” textile factory. It was a great step forward to reuse the wastewater and get the cost down. On the second day, we visited the University of Lodz and we saw activity in the field of Innovation and ecology. Project “ecological reclamation” recreational reservoirs Arturowek in Lodz. We have been introduced to the technologies used in the Sports Bay, where they use the reuse of water in swimming pools.
