I Mediterranean Water Forum.
The I Mediterranean Water Forum was held during 19 and 20 December in Marrakech (Morocco).
The IEA Foundation director, Francisco Cabezas, has participated in the Forum with President of the World Water Council, Loïc Fauchon, the president of the Mediterranean Water Institute, Milagros Couchoud, the president of the Mediterranean Network of Basin Organizations, Antonio Guerreiro de Brito and the president of the Autonomous Community of Murcia and senior vice president of the Committee of the Regions of the EU, Ramón Luis Valcárcel.
Also involved the secretary general of the Environment and Water of the Union for the Mediterranean, Rafiq Husseini, the French commissioner for the Sixth World Water Forum, André Flajolet, the director of the French Agency for Development and Secretary Rémi Genevey of State for Water and Environment of the Kingdom of Morocco, Abdelkbir Zahoud, in addition to political representatives and experts from research institutions engaged in water resources of more than 10 countries in the Mediterranean region of Europe, North Africa and the Middle East.
The objective of this first Mediterranean Water Forum is addressing the major challenges related to water issues in the Mediterranean in order to develop a common strategy to move next year's World Water Forum Marseille.
