IEA Foundation has collaborated in the organization of the course wastewater treatment.

IEA Foundation with the collaboration of the Regional Entity Sanitation and Wastewater Treatment (Esamur), and the Center for Soil Science and Applied Biology Segura (CEBAS-CSIC), organized from the day 9 to 13 September, the course of wastewater treatment which is framed within the European project SWIM (Sustainable water Integrated Management), which includes as participating countries Algeria, Egypt, Israel, Jordan, Lebanon, Libya, Morocco, Palestine, Syria and Tunisia.

The main target of this program is to promote sustainable policies and practices in water management among participating countries and deficit regions. The course will run until 20 September in Spain, in the cities of Murcia and Seville, and in Holland, and includes technical sessions and visits to water infrastructure.

Murcia will present the work undertaken within the General Plan of cleansing and purifying of the Region of Murcia, which has allowed the construction of more than a hundred treatment plants in all municipalities in Murcia, most equipped with tertiary treatment, and the recovery of more than 100 hectometers of water for irrigation and regeneration of rivers and streams.

The course has been attended by the experts themselves IEA Foundation, the Institution of Sanitation of the Region of Murcia (ESAMUR), Center for Applied Biology and Pedology Segura (CEBAS-CSIC), Foundation Center New Technologies for Water in Seville (CENTA), and the Municipal Water and Sanitation Murcia (EMUASA), among others.
