The Region of Murcia attends the AQUARES' Final Dissemination Event

The management team of the Ministry of Water and Agriculture of the Region of Murcia has attended the final dissemination event of AQUARES, held in Malta on 16 November 2022. Since the project implementation period is coming to an end, the event has gathered regional stakeholders from project partner countries together with European stakeholders as well as interregional authorities to discuss the importance of water reuse in water-scarce regions and how the achievements of AQUARES have supported the uptake of this resource.

Furthermore, project partners had the opportunity to showcase their action plans and present to the wider community how they have been implemented by the project partners. These plans opened the discussion on how identified challenges can be addressed and how good practices can be replicated within neighbouring countries. Among the attendees was also IEA Foundation who supports the adoption of a circular economy and non-conventional water resources to adapt to water scarcity and future challenges related to climate change.

The discussion also revolved around the challenges and enables that implementing partners have faced during this process, including the identification of funding opportunities, and innovative solutions for resource recovery, efficiency, and wastewater reuse safety procedures.
