Birth of the Mediterranean Network of Research for Sustainable Management of Water Resources.

IEA Foundation has participated in the creation of the Mediterranean Network of Research for Sustainable Management of Water Resources (REDAQUA).

The inaugural meeting took place on July 6 2011 at the headquarters of AIDICO, the Technological Institute of Construction in Paterna. This is the first scientific-technological network specializing in water, comprising universities and centers of the Mediterranean basin.

This network consists of centers specialized in water, belonging to the University of Valencia (SEHUMED), UPV (IIAMA, ITA), University of Alicante (IUACA), University Jaume I of Castellón (IUPA) and the Autonomous University of Barcelona, Almeria and the IEA Foundation, on which board is the University of Murcia and the Polytechnic University of Cartagena.

This initiative aims to bring together advances for better management of water in terms of reuse, compliance with the Framework Directive, as well as adaptability to climate change. In this way, the synergies will be united taking advantage of scientific and technical knowledge.
