PRESS RELEASE: International project AQUARES

A project to promote the strengthening of efficient water management and the concept of “green growth“ by reusing water.

The international AQUARES project launched at the beginning of June 2018 is co-financed by European Union funds under the Interreg Europe program. The main project partner is the Spanish region of Murcia and a total of 10 organizations from 9 EU countries (Spain, Greece, Poland, Malta, Italy, Germany, Slovenia and the Czech Republic) are involved.

The aim of the AQUARES project is to improve policy and water management concepts by integrating waste water reuse into national, regional and local development plans to promote efficient use of waste water resources. It emphasizes the best practice to ensure compliance with water quality standards and promote the adoption to sustainable development and eco – innovation in agriculture, industry, urban and recreational areas. The project draws on the experience of partner countries through the adoption of technological and managerial innovations in the field of water reuse in various sectors.

Project is implemented in two phases. The first, from 2018 to 2021 where key activities are implemented and the second phase of the so-called maintenance phase, where the prosed improvements will be tested and monitored by target group representatives, but also informed about the implementation and usability of results to relevant Europe institutions.

Several partner meetings have been held and based on methodologies, these data from the regions have been provided and passed on to others for processing. In march 2019 an interregional meeting of partners and stakeholders was held in Italy in Milano on theme about technologies used in areas waste water reuse. The workshop included an excursion to the local Nosedo wastewater treatment plant. In May 2019 a meeting was held in Malta on the possibility of planning to make public and private investments available for re-use of water, where an excursion to the wastewater treatment plant took place. Partners share their knowledge in the regions not only through meeting with stakeholders, but also through social networking and participation in third part evens.

Next part is to update from your region: recommend to write around 150 words (example you can see below from RRA PK)
